TravelObjects - Technology
On this page you find a description of the technology we use in plain English. If
you would like to have full details with all geek-speak, contact us via email and
we shall provide you with a White Paper.
|
Operating Platform
We prefer Linux and the standard release of TravelObjects comes on
on a Redhat Enterprise or Redhat 7.3 operating system. You will have an exceptionally
stable software that rarely requires reboots (maybe two or three times a year).
|
Other Platforms
We can deliver TravelObjects on Unix or Windows as well, please contact us for
separate pricing. If you operate on Unix and the server has sufficient space,
TravelObjects can be installed on such a machine.
|
Database
Standard release is MySQL, the world's largest open source database with over
five million installations. However, TravelObjects can be used with all major
database systems that are available in the market, like Oracle, SQL Server,
DB2, Sybase and others.
|
Application Server
TravelObjects uses Zope, a middleware product from the United States. Zope
comes with a variety of tools and is available on Linux, Unix and Windows.
|
Web Server
The system uses Zope's built-in webserver, ZServer, but can operate with Apache as well.
|
Hardware Requirements
TravelObjects on Linux requires an entry level server with some 512 MB of RAM, 18 GB
hard drive. The processor speed is not the deciding factor, anything near 1 GHz will do.
